Why You Shouldn't Buy Used Portable Oxygen Concentrators Sale by Owner

Portable Oxygen Concentrators can be a wonderful thing! They will allow ease of mobility so you can enjoy your life again! They free you from cumbersome Oxygen Cylinders, no need to fill them or have more delivered to your house! Plus, those cylinders are HEAVY! Not many people enjoy fooling with them.

Portable Oxygen Concentrators are generally a significant investment! Whether you buy used or new, they cost a good bit of money. You want to protect your investment! This is why it is VERY IMPORTANT to make sure you purchase a good quality new machine, or a quality reconditioned portable oxygen concentrator!

Portable Oxygen Concentrators are a small device, and all the components need to be working at top efficiency to make sure they remain reliable and also help extend your battery life. If any component is not working properly, the machine may have to work harder, which will diminish your battery life. Also, routine maintenance on a Portable Oxygen Concentrator is NORMAL! Every year or two (depending on amount of use) you will need to replace the Sieve Beds. Sieve Beds are the main component that make the high purity oxygen you need to breathe. Sieve Beds in a Portable Oxygen Concentrator are tiny, to help keep the machine light weight. This means that they will wear out every year or two. Replacements typically cost $200 to $300 depending on model, so make sure to factor these costs in to your purchase price.

When purchasing a Reconditioned POC from OxygenPlus Medical Systems, you are buying a machine that has been completely reconditioned using all brand new OEM components, no cheap aftermarket parts. We will not sacrifice quality of work to save a penny, that is not how we operate. Using high quality parts ensures that your machine will work at peak efficiency for the longest time possible.

Buying a used Portable Oxygen Concentrator from your friend, or a stranger on FaceBook or Craigs List is always a gamble! They probably have never had the machine serviced. If they claim they have, demand that they give you receipts! And also, make sure to have the purity tested! They may claim "It worked fine for me" and that may be true if they used the machine at 1LPM. If you need 5LPM or 6LPM the output purity will be drastically different than at 1LPM and the machine may actually not put out the purity your body needs. This means you immediately will need to have your machine repaired at your expense, because you most likely did not even get a warranty! Now you need to weigh your options, because you will likely have spent a similar amount on this used machine as if you just purchased one of our quality rebuilt units to begin with!

And don't even get me started with some companies like Inogen. Not only will they not sell replacement parts to anyone so you can fix your machine, they also will not even repair their own machines anymore if it is outside of their warranty period. They will only sell you another new one!

This is why it is so important that you not try to "Save-A-Buck" by buying a cheap machine online. You never know what you're going to get!

As always, you can email us direct at OxygenPlusMedical.com if you have any questions or concerns about a potential purchase, or have any questions you want to ask us before buying your new Portable Concentrator!
