United StatesA good upgrade, but tricky install.
The main filter is an easy install. Open the door and pop it in. But the bacterial "saucer" filter is VERY tricky. I called Oxy+, who are very helpful, for directions. Unplug the machine first. Here's how I approached it: 1. There are 3 LONG cabinet screws that are DEEPLY recessed requiring a 5/16ths 1/4 inch socket set and a LONG extension or a speeder wrench, which is what I used. 2. There's a 4th screw inside the main filter door. Remove the filter while there. 3. There are 2 Phillips screws in the handle that must be removed. Now you can open the case. Don't worry about the electric cord as it won't be in the way. 4. You will see 2 plastic tubes probably secured by a zip tie. Cut the zip tie. 5. There's VERY little room to work with the bacterial "saucer" filter. Disconnect the hose from the metal output ****** at the top of the case. 6. Work the feed tube to the bacteria filter loose at the lower end that is towards the bottom of the case. You can now pull the entire tube assembly and filter out of the machine. This will make it easier to do the next step. NOTE: The filter is ONE DIRECTIONAL. On the filter disc it is stamped input or output. ENSURE you reinstall it the same as the original. 7. You now have the bacterial filter with the "upper" tube still attached in your hand. Now you have leverage/space to remove the upper tube. 8. Use some soapy water to lubricate the nipples so you can replace the tubes. I suggest you "screw" the upper tube on first to the upper ******. Thread it and the tubing back to the upper metal output port, but don't attach it. 9. With the soapy water, work the tubing onto the lower ****** securely. 10. Connect the upper tubing to the outlet port. 11. Where you cut off the zip tie, use another zip tie or twist Um to secure the 2 tubes back together. 12. CAREFULLY realign the cabinet pieces so that fit together properly. This may take a couple tries. Be sure the tubing at the top of the case that connects to the outlet port has been adjusted so it isn't in the way. 13. Reinstall the screws. 14. Plug it in and you're good to go!
